Panto Season is Here Again!

Can you believe that it's been almost a year since our last pantomime? How time has flown! This year we bring you the traditional tale of 'Cinderella'- a firm family favourite for the festive season. 'Cinderella' is showing from 1st - 4th December at Jarrow Community Centre.

A couple of weeks ago we had our photoshoot. We were lucky enough to spend the morning at the wonderful Lambton Castle, right in the heart of the Lambton Estate, County Durham. It provided the perfect backdrop for our photographs. All of JMTC send a huge thanks to Bob Duff, Lambton Estate Events Manager for his kindness and generosity.

JMTC were delighted to be joined by David Brennan, Stagedoor Photography, who provided our publicity photos this year. David's wife, Beverley, even came along to lend a hand.

It was an extra fun morning as our good friends, Dryburn Theatre Workshop, joined us at Lambton Castle as they are performing Cinderella in February 2017.

Here are a few fun photos of the two groups together.

'Stellar' Performance

We're delighted that our show, 'Whistle Down the Wind', was received so well by audiences which included representatives from NODA and The Really Useful Group.

We were thrilled with our show report from NODA.
Read it here!

"In writing this report I initially found it difficultly to determine which superlative to use to adequately reflect and describe this show. I finally decided that 'STELLAR' best sums it up. Without doubt, that's what it was."
Foster Johnson, NODA

We have also been nominated for 6 NODA awards!!! A huge well done to all cast and crew for their hard work and dedication. We're so pleased that three of our members have individual nominations too! Well done Ian Bianchi, Shaunagh Kelly and Lia Challoner on your NODA Award nominations.

Good luck for the awards' ceremony on September 10th 2016!!!

'Whistle Down the Wind' will soon be here!

Rehearsals are in full flow for our production of Andrew Lloyd Webber's 'Whistle Down the Wind'. It's a dream come true for us to be able to produce this amazing show. Many of you will have seen the old Yorkshire- based, black and white film with Haley Mills and Alan Bates.

Lloyd Webber's version sees us transported to the American Deep South where an escaped convict is on the run. 'The Man' hides out in a barn where the local children find him and believe him to be Jesus. They keep him their secret, hidden away from the adults of the town who are baying for his blood as they believe it's best to be rid of the murderer on the loose.

What's really special about this show is that we're joined by a group of really talented children who simply belong on stage and they work so hard and so professionally to make sure their performances really are top notch.

Poor Baby is played by Sam Scott
