‘What’s the Buzz?’

We’re so excited here at JMTC because rehearsals for our next show in May 2020, ‘Jesus Christ Superstar’ have begun! The last few Tuesdays have been spent with the ensemble rehearsing some of the amazing numbers like ‘What’s the Buzz?’, ‘Hosanna’ and ‘The Temple’. It’s already taking shape on the floor and sounding great. Our principal cast sacrificed Valentine’s night so they could rehearse together- that’s love for you!

The box office is now open and you can grab your tickets either online or by phone. All details are in the poster below. A link to our online ticket sales is just at the side of this page.

It’s set to be a spectacular experience with a new take on this classic show. So, get your diary out and set a date to come and see us.

Make Sure you see it!

Our set is in place and it’s so complex that we had it put into place a week earlier than usual to allow the cast to get used to it and to allow the crew to have extra rehearsals to have everything running smoothly. This is a BIG show!!!

We received a lovely message from the sister of our very own Mrs Hedgehog who was visiting the North East and she managed to get along to our rehearsal on Sunday:

You can book by clicking the links at the side of our blog. ‘The Wind in the Willows’ is such a heartwarming show filled with wonderful characters and very catchy songs. This is going to be a show you’ll want to come back to!

Photoshoot Day

Photoshoot day is always a great day! An early start and off along country roads to the most beautiful, traditional Gypsy Caravan for our first venue of the day.
Then, back over to Lambton Estate to be met by the amazing Bob Duff. Photographs by the river and then at the wonderful Lambton Castle. A huge thanks also to Adam Donald for letting us use his fab sports car. A productive morning.

Wind in the Willows

Rehearsals are underway for our May show, ‘Wind in the Willows’. We’re delighted to be putting together the North East debut of the popular show fresh from The Palladium in London’s West End. It’s a new version of Kenneth Grahame’s popular tale, written by Julian Fellowes, George Stiles and Anthony Drew. It had a fantastic script and wonderful music.
The cast thoroughly enjoyed putting the first rehearsals of ‘The Wild Wooders’ onto the stage on Tuesday.

Dealing with the ‘Godspell’ Post-Show Blues...

It’s safe to say that we loved the week of ‘Godspell’- and the very thing that follows Show Week is the Post-Show Blues. Yes, these really do exist. There have been tears and sad faces and wishes that it was here and we could do it all again. The only thing that can combat the blues is to get straight back into rehearsal and look forward to the next production. For us that’s our Summer Concert. As soon as Concert is over it’ll be full-steam ahead for this year’s pantomime, ‘Rapunzel’.

We’re returning to our refurbished theatre in Jarrow Hub and to say we’re excited about it is an understatement. We can’t wait to see it. We hear it should be opening by October so that should give us plenty of time to get the stage ready for ‘Rapunzel’ for a week of performances at the end of November, just in time for the festive season.
